Ranch Time

Every two years Procomm hosts a Talent Appreciation Day for their stable of voiceover folks. And they hold it at Taylor Ranch, a working paint horse and Texas Longhorn ranch near Asheville, NC.

It's a very nice thing for Procomm to do. And it's a very nice place to spend an afternoon.

This guy isn't the horsey version of a mechanical bull. This horse trains riders in the fine art of calf roping. Both horse and calf are placed on a track and off you go.

I confess I preferred the flesh & blood version of Black Beauty.

Is there anything as soulful as an equine eye?

Equally impressive were the Texas Longhorns.

Of course there were a lot of people there too. Voiceover folks. The voices behind the mic whose faces you seldom see. So I'll keep it that way here. Suffice it to say, we all had a wonderful time at the Talent Appreciation Day at Taylor Ranch. Thank you, Procomm!

Tomorrow I'm off to Clayworks to load a couple of bisque kilns and mix up a bunch of glazes with Elaine. It's gonna be a long one so I'd better catch some zzzzzs.

"Hey lil' girl...Want some cow pies?"

I think the horns are, um, like antennae maybe? Or maybe he's intercepted our emails?

Actually, he was quite the gentleman. It was quite a trip to connect with him.
