Pawleys Island Getaway

Now that I'm home, I'd have to rank this as one of my Top 10 Vacations. This was the ultimate destination.

But before we could nose the CRV that-a-way, Sis wanted to visit the Millford Plantation near Pinewood, SC. Built for Governor John L. Manning in 1839,I believe the mansion is only open to visitors once a year. So it's kind of a big deal if you're into historical homes or Greek Revival architecture.

Sadly, no photos were allowed inside so you'll have to take my word for it that the interior is amazing. But the exterior is breathtaking too.

I particularly loved the lawns and gardens. Hmmmm. I wonder kind of effects Spanish Moss will give you in a barrel firing?

The visit to Millford was a great start to a week's worth of good times & fellowship. Coming next, a post on Pawleys Island wildlife. (But first I have a lot of blogs to read & some catching up to do with my fellow bloggers.)

Here's a sneak preview of what's to come.

(*hint* the tracks weren't made by Bigfoot.)

Still envious, these are really great shots! Tell me more about the Charlotte Rep connection.

TS, still envious here too. Just saw that you got to watch Michael Kline and Ron Meyers in action.

To answer your question, Charlotte Rep started out as Actors Contemporary Ensemble (later called A.C.E) in 1978. Steve Umberger, Terri Haugen and I were the original founders of that early company. Many fond memories there. I'm glad to know you were a part of it in the later stages.
