Yep. Another horse image from the cave drawings in France. Lately, I've been dreaming of a red horse. Certainly it's because I've been researching the paintings of Lascaux. But the pot needed more. I wasn't sure which creature would wind up on the back of this vessel. Cave bear? Bison? Lioness? Any would have worked with the contours of the pot.
But the reindeer took the honors.

The pix aren't too good. (I'd bite at being a paparazzi.) But I did have a revelation tonight, while daubing these underglazes on this lowly vessel. I need to go to France. To visit Font de Gaume. Before it's closed off to the public forever.
Someone very, very dear to me once told me "Do the things you want to do before it's too late." She left this earthly plane 16 years ago tonight. And her voice sings that message loud and clear. So I will go to France. If only for a weekend. And I will go this year.

Good for you buddy... Your horses are wonderful, but the sweeping reindeer is almost a ballet. Enjoy France, bring back pictures.
Thanks, Ron. Thanks, LLS. Why don't you and yours both come with me? !!!
Oops. Not exactly a good grammar gal am I. Take two: Why don't you & yours ALL come with me?
The critters are becoming very real aren't they? Dreams of sleep .... I am looking forward to the trip.
