Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I post tonight only because I haven't since Friday. And I read somewhere that if you don't post a word or two hundred on your blog, visitors might not come back. So...well, I feel compelled. I also read that artists should NEVER post pictures of their pets on their blogs. I guess that's not considered to be professional...but I can tell you that -- personally -- if I like an artist's work, pix of their pets wouldn't dissuade me at all. Au contraire. It could well seal the sale for me.

Moot point really. I don't consider myself an artist. And I sure as heck am not trying to sell any of my work at this time. If I were, I wouldn't do it here. But I'm not sure I ever want to get to that point. Because then, working in clay might become more like a job. I already have one of those. I love mine. It's creatively fulfilling in a different way. I'm not looking for another.

So that said, I present the calico couch.

Left to right, meet Mira, Onyx and Callie. They have the secret of a happy life all sewn up on plaid. S-L-E-E-P! Since I've had one of those really trying days today, I applaud their example. Time to follow the wisdom of les chats.

(I'm not sure if this is 200 words...too sleepy to count 'em. Hope you'll stay with me.)

Well I've broken the 'don't show pictures of pets' rule. Didn't know about it. When I have seen slide shows at Penland and Arrowmont the artists sometimes have pics of their kids or pets. Maybe this rule is just for "Fine Artists" whatever that means.
Hope to see you Friday.

Thanks, Ron. Then I consider myself to be in most excellent company. We have a passle o' family coming in for the weekend but I'll be there at least for a short bit on Friday. And maybe I can entice them to visit with me again on Saturday. I'm really looking forward to seeing some of your new pieces in person. And I'm so ready for class!

Hi Doug! Thank you too. I came across that rule in my blog travels and though "Oops." Then immediately thought "Who cares?" At any rate, I was too exhausted last night to care. And they are a cute tortoiseshell trio, don't you think?

Heck Beck, I put pictures of the whole damn tribe on mine. I even took pictures of Rumple & Stiltskin yesterday 2 hatchling doves. Don`t blame me, the tribe named them that.
As far as creativity. Your job makes music for the spirit to dance with and your words make children smile. Creativity? You have us all topped in that catagory.

Paul,
Welcome. No spelling police here believe me! Glad to have you stop by and I very much enjoy your poetry and lyrics (as well as the wonders you create from wood!!!)

LLS,

Ahh yes. But the travelers are your creations & oft are for sale. Whereas I'm not selling my cats. Well, I might let Mira, the Winn-Dixie refugee go for a few pieces of silver. (Just kidding, tho' just barely. I saved her life and she despises mine.)

Wonderful to hear about Rumple and Stiltskin. Sounds like a traveler suggestion! :)

Thank you very much for the kind words about our songs. Very little brings more joy to this ol' heart than seeing a small child dance/sing to a song we've written. The more smiles the merrier so we keep workin' at it!
