Putting my work out there in the company of so many accomplished potters was both humbling and exciting. I wish I'd taken more photos of the event. Fellow Clayworks instructors and students, Ron, Dorothy, Susan, Ju Ian, Ro and Ralph were all there. But I pretty much stuck close to our booth and neglected photo ops.

Elaine surveys her set-up as John continues to arrange his pieces.

Temp was 85 and the sun was brutal. (Note to self - always bring an umbrella! They work in the sun & the rain! And always bring John! He can hold an umbrella for 6 hours straight!!!!!)

I brought a select few of my parietal art pieces....and all of my birds.

It was a great day spent with friends & artists I admire. And it felt good to see several of my flock find new homes. All in all I'd say it was an exceptional weekend. Hope yours was too!

Yeah! Sounds like a great weekend all around. Glad your sale went so well.
I was honored to share a booth with you and Elaine. It was a lot of fun despite the heat and for the record, Elaine spelled me on the umbrella several times.
Amy - it was good. :) Learned a lot.
John - What a gracious booth mate thou art! :) Wert?
You and Elaine hold the bumbershoot records!!! 'Twas a pleasure to spend time together.
What nice displays; your birds look great. I think you need one of those booth covers for next time. Were there a lot of folks perusing? How did the sales go?
Hey it was good to see you guys at the show. It certainly was a hot one. The first shows are always pretty difficult, figuring things out, set up etc. You all did a nice job and it will get easier as you do more. Glad to hear you sold some birds. Sarah and I talked about them on our way home. We must get one (or two) soon. I wonder if you've thought about increasing the scale of them? I think they have many possibilities from small to large. Just an idea. Hope to see you Tuesday.
Looked like great fun. I had planned to be there but got sidetracked with home/garden, and when I lgot to a clock it was 4:15...
Glad it was successful.
A good hot sale is always a must for getting going in the clay world...tuffens you up!
Sounds like you had some good sales and I hope it was good for Elaine and John as well.

( Ps, after I sat watching soccar games all morning I said to Joey "I'm so glad I'm not out at the barn sale in this heat!" Ha!)
Hiya, Linda! We actually did have a tent but space limitations had us sitting outside of it. There were many many folks perusing in the morning. And purchasing! Come afternoon, things slowed down. At least for us. Personally I was very pleased with my sales. Made enough to cover the cost of the space and 2 months of studio rental at Clayworks. I live in the "red" but this sale helped a lot.
Ron - I was devastated to lose that lovely blue vessel to another buyer. But I'm thinking you may make more? Yep. The first sale outside of Clayworks is a bit intimidating --- so much to consider with set up and the like. But it was a wonderful learning experience for me. As for bigger birds, I'm working on that. Any suggestions you have are so so welcome! Will be at CW Tuesday.
Max - Did you save an iris for me? Dig more homestead clay? I'm loving the results you are getting!
Jen - The first time Elaine & I barrel-fired it was 99 degrees in the shade. I had to keep reminding myself of that on Saturday. lol.
Ahh...99 degree's, sounds like your ready for a wood fireing!
