Nashville

There's no place like Nashville. And this weekend Mike (one of the composers at Concentrix) his wife, Karin, and Fred & I enjoyed spending 24 hours there. Upon arrival on Saturday afternoon, we headed to Music Row where we enjoyed lunch & some great live music at "Legends".

Elvis "sightings" are an everyday thing in Nashville, which I found rather curious since I equate the King with Memphis. Nonetheless, he hangs out in front of the many souvenir shops.

But Fred, Mike, Karin & I weren't there for sight-seeing. We were lucky enough to garner a couple of Regional Emmy nominations in the "Composer/Arranger" category and were there for the Awards Ceremony where the winners would be announced.
Here's a look at the Schermerhorn Symphony Hall, moments before the doors were opened and over 75 Emmy nominees filed in to see who would win.
Long story short, Fred & Mike & I won an Emmy for "Raggs".  It was Fred's 4th Emmy and the first for Mike and me.

It was quite a night. It felt so good to have our work on "Raggs" receive this recognition. But after all the celebrating (which went well past 2AM) I'm happy to be home again. And I'm ready to play with clay again.

John, Ron & Jerry,
Thanks much. It was really a fun time & would have been even if we hadn't won for "Raggs." I count myself luckiest of all to be working with such talented guys and to have so many wonderful friends, including those I've yet to meet face-to-face.
NOTHING beats that!

Congrats to you and yours. It feels good to get some reccognition from peers for your time doing things you enjoy. I raise a clay gobblet in your honor.

Max, thanks! A toast from a clay goblet is about the best toast I could imagine!

Amy...thanks, dear lady. The Emmy is nice but I still can't hold a slip-trailer the way that you can! Have a safe trip!
