Barrel Fire # 7

Originally planned for 12/26 - Boxing day - our holiday barrel firing was delayed until after the New Year. But it still felt like Christmas as we loaded "Model T" for the seventh time. Instead of newspaper we used wrapping paper this go round.

Thumbs up and away we go!

Elaine hefted the wood of choice. Pine, of course. And there were branches from her Christmas tree buried in the barrel.

"Model T" is set to go. This 55 gallon oil drum served us beautifully in 2008. And while it's beginning to show its age, it's good to see it carrying on in 2009.

This time, John was in charge of the "lighting honors." Only fitting since we made him chop the wood.

Promising colours!

Tomorrow (um, today) we'll see whether BF#7 was Lucky Seven. More to come.

I didn't mean to take the "lighting honors" away from anyone. I just moved to the next step.

It was a good fire (the greens and blues were amazing!) and I hope the pots come out nice.

Sorry I missed it ! Didja add the secret moss ingredient? Hope everything turned out well!

John, it was your turn to do the lighting honors, especially since we strong-armed you into taking the chopping honors. You lit a GREART barrel!

Cinder, we did add the secret ingredient. I think it gave us some interesting greens but hard to tell. Have plenty left for experimentation.

thanks again for including two of my pieces. This one appears to have brought some good learning. Sorry I missed the fun. Here's hoping for a great BF #8!
