We used to call my Dad "Claydog." I'm not sure why. The "Clay" part was easy enough as that was his middle name, the name by which everybody called him. But the dog part? It wasn't a nod to the popular "dawg". He got his nickname before that term found its way into slangdom. But he liked it. And it stuck.
It seems a good name for my blog because I love working with clay in my spare time. Visit Clayworks In the time that's not spare, I write children's songs for a rock n' roll band of dogs. Visit RAGGS (Honestly? It's a lot easier to come up with titles for pre-schooler songs than it is to name one's own blog. )
But Claydog seemed fitting. So Claydog it is. For the most part, this blog will focus on my newbie efforts in ceramics, though I may meander here and there from time to time. Such is the privilege of age.
