Those "footed" pots are Susan's creations. Susan throws lovely bowls. Her sculpted feet add a special whimsy to her pieces. The pitcher form on the left was a Jen Mecca demo she was going to toss. But Jen graciously let me have it. (I'm seeing a planter there.) Thanks Jen! As for me, I had some small birdlets in the kiln, as well as Herr Goose and 3 new cave art bottles. The bottle on the left was fashioned from Max's "McLeod Homestead" clay.
Many of the pieces that went into the bisque tonight are bound for the gas kiln --- loading on the 24th. Methinks there will be some serious glazing going on this weekend. And more food, more wine, more celebration. Can it really get better than that?

Those feet sticking up are hysterical. I love the surfaces you have achieved on your three new bottles. For your goose did you put underglaze or slip on the neck? Can't wait to see how this one turns out. What a great class you have.
Hi, Linda! Yes, Susan's "footed" bowls are something else. Had to get a picture of them upside down. :)
I'm glad you like the surface on the bottles. I feel like I'm making a little bit of progress there but am still waiting for the "Wow" moment when I can say "By George, I've got it!" That's slip on the goose's neck. There's also black & white slip and some iron oxide on it's body. I can't wait to get them out of the kiln on Saturday, glaze them on Sunday and fire them Weds.
another gas kiln firing on the 24th? wow...That's great to know! See you Sunday.
Those bottles,,, just love them!!!
I LOVE the photo of the Heron. That is so cool that you got to see it catch that fish!
Can't wait to see how your going to make the pitcher into a planter. You'll have to send me a photo.

Amy --- yes'm...another gas kiln load on the 24th. I was there today and the kiln door was open. Did you have any pieces in that firing? See ya tomorrow. I'll be there fairly early (glazing what came out of the bisque today) but will likely leave before 2pm. Too hot to stay much longer. Safe travels back to NC!
EMS - welcome! The bottles came through the bisque nicely. Glad you like them (I do too) Now it's on to the glaze table. Minimal for the bottles I think. Just enough to make them glisten.
Hi Jen! I was lucky enough to see it catch four bream. (Unlucky for the bream however). Your pitcher bisqued beautifully. After I glaze it and get something growing in it at Storybrook I will send a pic. Had it been a bit wetter I would have "creaturized" it. But it will be beautiful nonetheless...and will always serve as a reminder to me of how inspirational you were (and are) to everyone at Clayworks!
